Baseball Recap: Vacaville Comes Up Short

Vacaville lost a heartbreaker to Clayton Valley Charter when they met back in April of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. The Vacaville Bulldogs fell just short of the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles by a score of 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Ugly Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Dallas West was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Vacaville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Wilcox, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Wilcox stole this season.

Vacaville's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Clayton Valley Charter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Vacaville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-2 victory against Alhambra on the 28th. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they will face off against Monte Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
