Basketball Recap: Gunnison Cowboys vs. North Fork Miners

The Gunnison Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of North Fork by a score of 33-30. Gunnison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Miners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

North Fork's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Moss Inman, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Henry Hollembeak, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Gunnison dropped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for North Fork, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Gunnison won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Grand Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Tuesday. As for North Fork, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
