Baseball Recap: Sandpoint Takes a Loss

If Sandpoint was riding high fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Lakeland on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 8-5 to the Hawks on Thursday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 13-1.

Brennan Shaw made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Sandpoint's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lakeland, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sandpoint will face off against rival Lewiston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lakeland is set to square off against their familiar foe Moscow at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
