Football Recap: Fort Myers Takes a Loss

Fort Myers fell victim to Estero and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Estero Wildcats, falling 21-0. The Green Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

The critical scores for Estero came from MacKenzie Okseniuk, Savannah Knoerlein, and Taylin Beckman.

Fort Myers now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Estero, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Fort Myers and South Fort Myers will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:30 p.m. on March 27th. South Fort Myers' defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so Fort Myers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Estero, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Estero Wildcats face off against Dunbar Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. They are facing Dunbar at the right time seeing as Dunbar is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
