Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Haelyn Morris and Darbi Hunsberger

Mt. Carmel Christian Academy lost against Ridgeview Christian back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mt. Carmel Christian Academy Warriors received a blow as they fell 48-32 to the Ridgeview Christian Crusaders.

Darbi Hunsberger and Haelyn Morris certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hunsberger posted eight points and five blocks, while Morris scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Carlee Campbell, who had six points and eight rebounds.

Ridgeview Christian was led to victory by Abby Fox and Amaya Elijah. Fox went 10 of 14 on her way to 24 points, while Elijah went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Fox has scored at least a third of Ridgeview Christian's points.

Mt. Carmel Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Ridgeview Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel Christian Academy will head out to challenge United Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ridgeview Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cornerstone Christian at 2:00 p.m. on January 25th.
