Basketball Recap: Chenango Forks Falls to Owego Free Academy in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Chenango Forks had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They received a blow as they fell 73-57 to the Owego Free Academy River Hawks. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the River Hawks: they've now lost six in a row.

Chenango Forks' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Vaseleck, who posted 18 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Lincoln Raab was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

The win got Owego Free Academy back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chenango Forks will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Norwich at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Purple Tornado have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Owego Free Academy, they will be home for the holidays to greet Windsor Central at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
