Preview: Redding Christian Lions vs. Biggs Wolverines
Redding Christian is 7-0 against Biggs since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Redding Christian Lions will take on the Biggs Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Redding Christian is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, Redding Christian came up short against Trinity and fell 57-45.
Meanwhile, Biggs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Willows as Biggs made off with a 59-39 win.
Biggs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emilio Vera led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Vera set a new season high mark in steals with seven. The team also got some help courtesy of David Ibarra, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Redding Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Biggs, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-4.
Everything came up roses for Redding Christian against Biggs in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 62-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redding Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
