Softball Recap: Granville Central Panthers vs. Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Granville Central). They were the clear victors by a 25-2 margin over the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Hailey Whitfield was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Whitfield was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Samiya Jones was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
