Coronado is 8-2 against Liberty since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will take on the Patriots at 3:30 p.m. Coronado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Coronado is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Shadow Ridge, who was ranked fifth at the time (Coronado was ranked ninth). The Cougars lost 14-5 to the Mustangs on Monday.

Summer Gilliam made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Goldberg, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Liberty's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against Palo Verde, falling 9-3.

Morgyn Vesco was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 12-5-2. As for Coronado, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Coronado hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Coronado might still be hurting after the 12-5 defeat they got from Liberty in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
