Baseball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Citrus Valley's Winning Streak

Citrus Valley and Redlands East Valley pushed the score to 12-11 the last time they played Redlands East Valley, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Blackhawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Citrus Valley got a good showing from Jake Clark, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clark has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Citrus Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Abarca, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
