Softball Recap: Nimitz Vikings vs. Pearce Mustangs
After flying high against Berkner last Saturday, Nimitz came back down to earth. The Vikings lost 21-10 to the Pearce Mustangs on Tuesday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Chloe Coronado was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Victoria Edwards, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Pearce, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-12-1.
While Nimitz had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
