Basketball Recap: Espanola Valley Comes Up Short

Espanola Valley and Deming squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Espanola Valley had to settle for second. They took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Deming Wildcats. The Sundevils have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Espanola Valley's loss dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Deming, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Espanola Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Deming, they will challenge Gallup at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Gallup sitting on seven straight victories and Deming on four.
