Softball Game Preview: Bangor Slaters vs. Lehighton Indians

The Bangor Slaters will head out on the road to take on the Lehighton Indians at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Bangor's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.

Bangor's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Jim Thorpe with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Slaters, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lehighton's offense. They came up short against Southern Lehigh on Wednesday, falling 16-0. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lehighton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amber Yeakel, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Bangor's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Lehighton, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Bangor got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Lehighton by a conclusive 15-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Slaters since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
