Softball Recap: Clearwater Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Clearwater waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Gulf Buccaneers get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tornadoes, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Morgan Maske's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Juleah Patterson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Sydney Wilhelm also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Clearwater pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Gulf, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-12 record.

As of now, neither Clearwater nor the Buccaneers have any future games scheduled.
