Volleyball Recap: Abby Haas and Makayla Williams Secure Win for Alexander Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Watauga, Alexander Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Freedom Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-7, 25-8.

Alexander Central was led to victory by Makayla Williams and Abby Haas. Williams had 16 assists and four digs, while Haas had six digs and two aces. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more assists the last three times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Alexander Central was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freedom only served three.

Alexander Central pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Freedom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Alexander Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Ashe County on the 22nd. As for Freedom, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against McDowell on the 23rd.
