Baseball Recap: Our Lady of the Lakes' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Our Lady of the Lakes had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Genesee Christian Soldiers 6-5.

Louis Artz was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Artz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Barthel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Our Lady of the Lakes picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Genesee Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Our Lady of the Lakes will venture away from home to take on New Lothrop at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Genesee Christian, they will welcome CHASE at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
