Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Warriors vs. Tri-City Christian Academy Warriors

The Trinity Christian Warriors came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Tri-City Christian Academy 52-33. For Trinity Christian, this counts as revenge for the 48-32 defeat the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

Despite the loss, Tri-City Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Fulvio Dos Santos dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 42.4% of Tri-City Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Trinity Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian will challenge the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orme will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Warriors are ranked 61st). As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully East Valley Athletes for Christ focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Thursday.
