Baseball Game Preview: Hope Blue Wave vs. Paul Cuffee

The Hope Blue Wave will take on Paul Cuffee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hope has four straight victories, Paul Cuffee has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hope had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt North Smithfield on Wednesday. The Blue Wave were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Northmen. The result was nothing new for the Blue Wave, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Paul Cuffee came up short against Davies Career & Tech on Monday, falling 14-4.

Hope's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Paul Cuffee, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
