Softball Recap: Thousand Oaks Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Thousand Oaks put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Santa Paula Cardinals. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Ava Seeger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Thousand Oaks' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Claire Kirby, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Kirby a new career-high in doubles (two).

Thousand Oaks' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Santa Paula, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thousand Oaks will square off against Royal at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Paula, they will face off against Carpinteria at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
