Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Ridge Timberwolves vs. Highland Rebels

Cedar Ridge is 2-8 against Highland since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Timberwolves will head out to face off against the Rebels at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Highland will be up against a hot Cedar Ridge squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Timberwolves blew past Sloan-Hendrix 17-7 on Thursday. The Timberwolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Highland never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on Blytheville with a sharp 13-0 win. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Chickasaws recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Mason Sinclair was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of James Jensen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Highland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Highland pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cedar Ridge, their record now sits at 8-4.

Cedar Ridge came up short against Highland when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 6-1. Can the Timberwolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
