Volleyball Recap: Hilliard Bradley Gets the Win

Hilliard Bradley took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Chillicothe, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jaguars won by a set and slipped past the Cavaliers 3-2. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hilliard Bradley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 23-25, 25-17, 27-25, 15-13.

Shannen Stevenson paced Hilliard Bradley's offense, picking up 24 kills. Stevenson got some help from Noah Santone and his 52 assists. Stevenson also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Kasey Henry, racking up five apiece.

Hilliard Bradley's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Chillicothe, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2.

Hilliard Bradley has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Big Walnut on the 5th. As for Chillicothe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Ross County Christian Academy on the 2nd.
