Basketball Recap: Shelby County Comes Up Short

Shelby County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Central of Clay County Volunteers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-28 two weeks ago.

Mia Lindsey was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 15 points along with six boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ramyah Billingsley, who scored 11 points and seven rebounds.

Shelby County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Central of Clay County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.

Shelby County has already played their next matchup, a 63-17 win against Montevallo on the 24th. As for Central of Clay County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-36 loss against Briarwood Christian on the 24th.
