Recap: Serena Huskers vs. Newark Norsemen
The Serena Huskers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Newark at home to the tune of 65-32. Considering Serena has won three matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Newark's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Wills, who scored 8 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Leggett, who scored 10 points.
Serena's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Newark, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Serena will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against DePue at 5:30 p.m. DePue will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 405th, while Serena is ranked 29th). Newark will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lisle at 6:45 p.m. on December 2nd.
