It was a good run, but Ludington unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 50-41 to the Negaunee Miners. While losing is never fun, the Orioles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Miners are ranked tenth).

Ludington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Negaunee, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ludington will welcome Manistee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Negaunee, they will challenge Iron Mountain at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Negaunee's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Iron Mountain has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
