Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Fort Hill

With a playoff win on the line, Fort Hill rose to the challenge on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 victory over the Mountain Ridge Miners. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sentinels have posted since January 27th.

Mountain Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Owen McGeady, who shot 50% from the field en route to 17 points. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Cameron Breighner was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for Fort Hill, bringing their record for this year to 15-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Mountain Ridge, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-10.
