After flying high against Berwick last Tuesday, Wyoming Valley West came back down to earth. The Spartans came up short against the Dallas Mountaineers on Thursday, falling 11-1. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Wyoming Valley West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damien Eastman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Eastman hit this season.

Wyoming Valley West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Dallas, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Wyoming Valley West will square off against Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dallas, they will head out on the road to square off against Crestwood at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
