Baseball Recap: Palmyra-Eagle Has No Trouble Against Parkview

While Palmyra-Eagle put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Parkview. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Vikings. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to D Walsh's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Devin Patrick was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Ryan Brodzik was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

The win made it two in a row for Palmyra-Eagle and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Parkview, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra-Eagle will venture away from home to face off against Cudahy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Packers at the right time seeing as the Packers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Parkview, they are taking a road trip to take on Fall River at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
