Basketball Recap: Highlands Ranch's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Highlands Ranch and Riverdale Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Highlands Ranch had to settle for second. They fell to the Riverdale Ridge Ravens 41-37. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Highlands Ranch's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kimora Banks-Thomas, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Banks-Thomas a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Addie Moon was another key player, putting up eight points.

With the defeat, Highlands Ranch broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-4. As for Riverdale Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Highlands Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverdale Ridge, they will face off against Legend at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Legend comes in on three and Riverdale Ridge on 14.
