Softball Recap: Midview Middies vs. Elyria Pioneers
Midview put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-3 margin over the Elyria Pioneers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Midview also won the last time the pair played back in April.
Savannah Holcomb was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Holcomb has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Holcomb was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Lily Thomasheski was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Nina Ballachino, who went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.
