Baseball Preview: West Mesquite Wranglers vs. Adams Cougars

On Tuesday, West Mesquite fell victim to a rough 12-3 loss at the hands of Adams. West Mesquite has not had much luck with Adams recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

For Adams' part, Joseph Morales made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Morales has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Morales was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jay Ortiz was incredible, going 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and a triple. Thomas Fitton was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base.

West Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Adams, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.
