Softball Game Preview: Mitchell Bluejackets vs. White River Valley Wolverines

The Mitchell Bluejackets will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the White River Valley Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Mitchell is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight games dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 8-2 to Barr-Reeve.

Meanwhile, White River Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Vincennes Rivet.

Zyleigh Abrams-Condol made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Abrams-Condol was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miah Duncan, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Addison Lawrey was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
