Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aledo). They blew past the Granbury Pirates 61-0 on Friday. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Pirates are ranked 494th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aledo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Winkfield, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. Nash Mcelree was another key passer, throwing for 105 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.

Aledo's run defense was locked in: Granbury could only muster 1.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Carson Dempsey for the heroic effort on defense: he. Aledo hasn't allowed more than 3.8 yards per carry in four consecutive games.

Aledo's record now sits at 7-0. As for Granbury, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Aledo and Granbury will both be playing Richland the next time they take the field. The Pirates will host the Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bearcats will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
