Softball Recap: Louisville Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Louisville's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that the Royals let down their fans at home.

Kelsey Vitalis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

Louisville's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Harvard-Westlake, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

Looking ahead, Louisville will take on Chaminade at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Louisville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Chaminade has averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Harvard-Westlake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burroughs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
