Football Recap: North Canyon Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

North Canyon had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Copper Canyon Aztecs, posting a 39-0 victory.

North Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laila Urquieta led the charge by throwing for 174 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 61 yards and one score. Alexis Kraft was in the mix as well, providing the Rattlers with two touchdowns.

North Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ramiyah Jacobs and Elaina Perry.

Coming up, North Canyon will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Notre Dame Prep at 6:00 p.m. As for Copper Canyon, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Sierra Linda at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
