Halifax County entered their tilt with George Washington on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 34-0 win. Give the Comets' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

CJ Farley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Logan Clark was a standout: he fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colin Hatcher, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI and three runs.

Halifax County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in five consecutive contests.

Halifax County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for George Washington, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halifax County will challenge Magna Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for George Washington, they will take on Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
