Soccer Recap: Ridge View Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Ridge View and Blythewood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Blazers lost 11-0 to the Bengals on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Ridge View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Blythewood are ranked 27th).

Ridge View's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Blythewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3-1 record this season.

Ridge View is taking a road trip to square off against West Florence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ridge View are facing West Florence at the right time seeing as West Florence are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Blythewood, they will challenge Sumter at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Sumter's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
