Douglas came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Newcastle Dogies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Douglas never let Newcastle on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 26-24.

Sarah Smith paced Douglas' offense, picking up 17 kills. Smith got some help from Avynn Yost and her 47 assists. Samantha Yost controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Douglas' victory bumped their record up to 25-7. As for Newcastle, they dropped their record down to 9-16 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Douglas and Torrington will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newcastle, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Burns on the 17th.
