Softball Recap: Lake Hornets vs. Clarkdale Bulldogs
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Lake and Clarkdale had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hornets fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.
Alyssa Sockey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Amaure'I Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Clarkdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lake is set to face off against their familiar foe Scott Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clarkdale will challenge rival Bay Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
