Football Game Preview: Stringer Red Devils vs. Mount Olive Pirates + Official Tickets

Stringer is 8-1 against Mount Olive since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Mount Olive will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Stringer extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Red Devils simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Resurrection Catholic 46-7. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 26 points or more this season.

Jaheim Campbell had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 103 yards and two scores. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 12th straight game with at least 103 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Gavin, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stringer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 218 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Mount Olive against West Lincoln on Thursday as the squad secured a 50-7 victory.

Mount Olive found their leader in freshman Skyelean Blackwell, who threw for 156 yards and three TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and one score on only six carries.

Mount Olive's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Stringer, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Stringer has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 315.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mount Olive struggles in that department as they've been averaging 153.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Stringer was able to grind out a solid win over Mount Olive when the teams last played back in September, winning 34-22. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
