Lanier is 0-6 against Dacula since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Lanier came up short against North Forsyth and fell 33-20. The Longhorns were down 26-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Lanier got top-tier performance from Dmajai Hightower, who picked up 133 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Hightower got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 78 yards. Another player making a difference was Ben Vanden Bos, who threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes.

Meanwhile, Dacula also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Jackson County by a score of 35-28. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Panthers are ranked 115th).

Despite their defeat, Dacula saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isaac Kareem-Maman, who picked up 138 receiving yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Dacula also got a significant boost from Hector Davies, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 107 yards.

Lanier now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Dacula, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.

Lanier took a serious blow against Dacula when the teams last played back in September of 2021, falling 54-26. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lanier was down 54-6.
