Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Catholic Comes Up Short

After soaring to 62 points the game before, St. Augustine Catholic was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Benson Bobcats 55-24. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now lost four in a row.

St. Augustine Catholic's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joseph Lalli, who posted four points and three steals, and Diego Perez, who scored two points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Benson found their leader in sophomore Luke Chapman, who went 7 for 15 en route to 17 points and five assists. Those five assists gave Chapman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dawson Judd, who had eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.

St. Augustine Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Benson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15.

St. Augustine Catholic will challenge San Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Augustine Catholic is facing San Miguel at the right time seeing as San Miguel is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Benson, they will take on Bisbee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bisbee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
