Football Recap: Sabine Cardinals vs. Spring Hill Panthers
Sabine had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Spring Hill Panthers 50-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.
Colt Sparks had a dynamite game for Sabine, rushing for 317 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Sparks really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sabine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 420 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sabine will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
