North Brunswick won the last time they faced South Brunswick and things went their way  on Friday too. The Scorpions took down the Cougars 39-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Scorpions' considerable advantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Cougars are ranked 257th).
North Brunswick's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Jonah Campbell, who threw for 260 yards and three  TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 39 yards and one  score. That's the most  passing touchdowns  Campbell has posted since back in August of 2024.  Ty Whiters was  Campbell's top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and one  touchdown, while also rushing for 73 yards and one  score.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Brunswick was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 301  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Brunswick only  rushed for 192  rushing yards.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Brunswick's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was  Jack Johnson with  two. He has been hot recently, having also posted six or more  total tackles the last three times he's  played.
 Despite the loss, South Brunswick still got an impressive performance from   Amerius Revels, who rushed for 204 yards and one  TD while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.
The  victory  got North Brunswick back to even at 1-1. As for South Brunswick,  they are  on  a  12-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Brunswick will venture away from home to  challenge West Carteret  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for South Brunswick, they will head out to  face off against Heide Trask  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
