North Brunswick won the last time they faced South Brunswick and things went their way on Friday too. The Scorpions took down the Cougars 39-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Scorpions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Cougars are ranked 257th).
North Brunswick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonah Campbell, who threw for 260 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score. Despite the loss, South Brunswick still got an impressive performance from Amerius Revels, who rushed for 204 yards and one TD while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.
The victory got North Brunswick back to even at 1-1. As for South Brunswick, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Brunswick will venture away from home to challenge West Carteret at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Brunswick, they will head out to face off against Heide Trask at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
