Volleyball Recap: Otsego's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Otsego waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Genoa Area Comets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 4th.

Otsego had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-15, 25-17, 28-26.

Otsego's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sophia Borer led the charge by getting 12 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Weaver, who had ten digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Otsego was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Otsego's record now sits at 13-6. As for Genoa Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Otsego is set to take on their familiar foe Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Genoa Area will square off against rival Oak Harbor at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
