Baseball Recap: Tell City Takes a Loss

Tell City suffered their biggest defeat since April 17th on Thursday. They came up short against the Gibson Southern Titans, falling 9-1. The loss continues a trend for the Marksmen in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost nine in a row.

Tell City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Schraner, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Drew Greulich also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Tell City's record now sits at 6-10. As for Gibson Southern, their victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5.

Coming up, Tell City will welcome South Dearborn at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Marksmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Gibson Southern, they will head out on the road to challenge North Central at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
