Football Recap: Dillon Christian Comes Up Short

Dillon Christian lost against Pee Dee Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors took a blow against the Golden Eagles, falling 57-28. Despite 109 more yards than the Golden Eagles, the Warriors couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Dillon Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Blackmon, who threw for 324 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 81 yards. The Warriors' leading receiver R Bracey was Blackmon's top target yet again, picking up 82 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one score on the ground.

Even if they lost, Dillon Christian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ethan Moody, Jacob Cline, and Braxton Cummings, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Dillon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pee Dee Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Dillon Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pee Dee Academy, they will face off against Orangeburg Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 42.5 points per game this season.
