Volleyball Recap: Romeoville Takes a Loss

Romeoville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Lincoln-Way Central Knights. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16.

Arianna Thomas paced Romeoville's offense, picking up seven kills. Thomas were helped by Skyler Carrasco and Kara Mark, who contributed seven assists each. Thomas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Romeoville's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lincoln-Way Central, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Coming up, Romeoville will challenge Plainfield East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Spartans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lincoln-Way Central, they will face off against Richards at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
