On Saturday, Nome-Beltz faced Unalakleet in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Nome-Beltz Nanooks had just enough and edged the Unalakleet Wolfpack out 47-45. The win was familiar territory for the Nanooks who have now won four matchups in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nome-Beltz to victory, but perhaps none more so than Benny Lie, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Alora Stasensko, who earned 11 points.

Nome-Beltz's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Unalakleet, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1.

Nome-Beltz will have a chance to go back-to-back against Unalakleet: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
