Basketball Game Preview: Centerville Miners vs. Hobson/Moore Titans

The Centerville Miners will head out on the road to face off against the Hobson/Moore Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Centerville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-57 to Grass Range/Winnett. While losing is never fun, the Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Rangers are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hobson/Moore). They came out on top against Great Falls Central Catholic by a score of 75-62 on Saturday. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Centerville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points over those games. As for Hobson/Moore, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11.

Everything came up roses for Centerville against Hobson/Moore in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured a 78-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centerville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
